About the BibTeX Validator
This free BibTeX validator checks your bibliography entries for common errors including missing required fields, syntax issues, and formatting problems. It supports all standard BibTeX entry types: @article, @book, @inproceedings, @incollection, @inbook, @phdthesis, @mastersthesis, @techreport, @misc, and more.
Each entry type has specific required fields. For example, an @article requires author, title, journal, and year. The validator will flag missing required fields as errors and suggest adding recommended optional fields like DOI and pages as warnings.
The validator also handles LaTeX special characters and accent commands, curly brace grouping for case preservation, and string concatenation with the # operator.
